Beatrice was three years old when her parents, William and Francis Cummings, tragically died in a car accident. Ruth Singer, Francis’s older sister, was thunderstruck when she heard that she was named guardian of the minor child at the reading of her sister’s will. Being a stay-at-home mom to her three girls for the past ten years, living in a shoebox-sized house, and sacrificing personal wants and needs due to living on one income, Ruth was more than ready to break out of the house and return to the workplace. She finally reached the point where all three of her children would be in school. The thought of reversing in time to take on a three-year-old led to frustration and anger.
Grace Santangelo was innocent, reserved, and obedient. At fifteen, she dutifully assisted in the day-to-day operation of her parents’ boardinghouse in Illinois. Never in her wildest dreams did Grace imagine meeting and falling in love with boarder number 3, Gio Rivia, a handsome Italian immigrant that was eight years her senior.

God already loves you beyond
your imperfections.”
“But he said to me. My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

A Christian fiction book based on six of the author’s dreams. Beatrice is three years old when her parents die in a car accident/fire. Her aunt is named her guardian. Aunt Ruth is thunderstruck and angry when she hears she is now responsible for a three-year-old. Her growing resentment is obvious to others, especially Beatrice. Her grandfather, Pops, realizes early on that God speaks to Beatrice in the quiet of the night through her dreams. He teaches her to write her dreams down in a journal. As trials and heartaches follow, Beatrice holds onto her dreams which bring guidance, encouragement, and love to her life.

I just finished “Holy Whispers” and I will have to say. Brenda did it again!! Great reading. She brings her characters out in such a way you become part of the book.
I felt like I had been there through each heartache, celebration, and achievement. Brenda is very descriptive with her writing, which draws her audience in quickly.
It usually takes a few chapters to really get involved with the story, but not with this book. From Chapter one my heart broke so get your tissues ready. You will experience tragedy, disappointment, encouragement, love, acceptance, perseverance, success, this book has it all. I highly recommend it.
Great job Brenda.
Holy Whisperings is a wonderful story written from the heart. It contains the valleys of disappointment and sorrow, plus the mountain top joys life brings. It is honest and raw when dealing with the subject of adoption’s joys and sorrows from the adoptive parents’ viewpoint. It is so personal and real. All of the characters are authentic, the good and the bad, and remind me of different people I know in real life. Ruby Rubble being one! I loved this book and its reminder to always trust in the Lord. I highly recommend this book along with Brenda’s first book “If It Hadn’t Been for Grace”
Absolutely beautifully written. Definitely a book that needs to be read. Every character has a very exportation role. Not a dull moment written. Also love the exportable of the personal relationship between Beatrice and God and Pops and God through out the book. He really never makes mistakes.
This book was so captivating from the first page. You can imagine yourself watching every scene unfold before your eyes. I heard myself say “Oh dear Lord!” several times throughout the story because I could feel what they were going through. They had hard times and good times, but you were right there experiencing it all. This book was very encouraging and uplifting. These children had great faith in God, and didn’t give up when life was hard on them. God’s grace is sufficient, and His love proved to be Unfailing. Beautiful story I will read again.
This book illustrates the power of God’s grace and a mother’s prayers for her family. It’s based on a true story and will have you laughing and crying. This author’s descriptive writing propels the reader into the lives of each character. Once you start, you can’t put down this compelling read!
When I found out that Brenda wrote a book I couldn’t wait to read it. I don’t normally have time to read but I found time to read this. Brenda explained each character so well, I felt like I knew each one. This is real page turner. Can’t wait to read more of Brenda’s book’s.
